HOOKWORMS
- The hookworm is a parasitic roundworm that lives in the small intestine of the host. Most of the life of the hookworm is spent attached to the intestinal wall of the host. However, at one point the male worm leaves and goes in search of a mate. The females produces hormones that lead the males to find them. Once a male has found its mate, coils around her and covers her genital pore. The eggs exit with the feces and wait to infect another host and the process starts all over again.
C.ELEGANS
- There are two sexes the male and the hermaphrodite. This means they can either reproduce sexually or asexually the hermaphrodite prefers male sperm rather than going through asexual reproduction. The male population is less than 1% of the entire population. The C.Elegan actually goes on the mouth of he hermaphrodite and ejaculates, this is then absorbed into the mouth of it and a baby is produced. Most go through asexual reproduction.
ASCARIS
- Ascaris is dioecious. There is a male and a female. The female is larger than the male and when internally fertilized will produce millions of eggs in its life time. When these eggs are transfered out of the host they need to be picked up by the proper host. Once they enter it the fertilized eggs will undergo a 10 day ordeal circulating around the body until they end up in the small intestine. It's the parasitic life style that probably dictates this process.
